Product Introduction:

Balls manufactured of alumina powder by batching, grinding, milling, moulding, drying, and burning are referred to as alumina grinding media balls. Titan primarily offers ceramic balls with alumina contents of 92% and 95%, which are separated into dry grinding balls and wet grinding balls based on various operating circumstances. Additionally, we also manufacture zirconium grinding balls.

Grinding balls made of alumina ceramic are acceptable in terms of hardness, density, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and cost.

Properties:

low abrasion

high hardness

no crackle

high grinding efficiency

Application:

Alumina Grinding Media Balls is widely used in building sanitary ceramics, electronic materials, metallurgy, minerals, glass, cement, chemical, paint, coating industry etc.

Suitable for agitator bead mills for ultra-fine processing of solids in liquids, basket mills, pin mills, circulation and passage mills, etc.

The question and answer

1 Problem: Alumina is an amphoteric oxide, which is easy to react with acid and alkali, and there will be aluminum ions in the slurry?

Answer:Alumina mentioned in high school textbooks is an ionic structure that is easy to hydrolyze and ionize, so it can react with acids and bases. The main structure of alumina ceramics is a-alumina crystal, which belongs to the trigonal crystal system. The zwitterion are transitioned from ionic bonds to covalent bonds. Therefore, the chemical properties are very stable. The reason for the grayness of the white slurry is not caused by aluminum ions, but by the oxidation of iron that has been ground off in the stainless steel to form black iron oxide.

2. Problem: Mohs hardness is lower than zirconia, and the wear resistance is not good?

Answer: Only the cubic phase zirconia fired at 2400 degrees has a grass hardness of 9, the Mohs hardness of the tetragonal zirconia fired at 1500 degrees is 7, and the Mohs hardness of a-alumina ceramics is close to 9.
