The Benefits Of Installing Alumina Lining Bricks in Ball Mills

The benefits of installing alumina lining bricks in ball mills

Installation steps of lining bricks:

1. Preparation of the ball mill: Any brick or cement residue, welding slag, rust, and oil stains on the inner surface of the ball mill should be removed, and the smooth surface should be roughened to improve the bonding effect.

2. Brick installation starts from the end face of the ball mill. All the end faces are installed with straight bricks and straight half bricks. All the working faces of the lining bricks should face the ball mill. The card slot of the installation site should be fastened, the bricks on the upper layer should be overlapped and pressed on the joints of the two bricks below, and the upper and lower rows of bricks should be installed at staggered seams. Every time a few lining bricks are installed, they should be tapped gently with a rubber hammer or a wooden hammer, so that the adhesive is evenly distributed between the bricks and the bricks, between the bricks and the wall of the cylinder, to ensure the quality of bonding, and strictly control the gap between the bricks. The gap should be less than 1.5mm.

3. After installing both ends, start to install the cylinder, calculate the number of rows of straight bricks and inclined bricks according to the amount of lining bricks in the cylinder, and install alternately according to the number of straight and inclined rows calculated in the second step to ensure the bottom of the lining bricks. It is closely attached to the inner wall of the cylinder, and the inner diameter of the lining bricks after laying should be smoothly connected. Each row along the length direction should use straight bricks or inclined bricks of the same specification, and half bricks should be used at the ends to adjust the brick joints to maintain each phase. The joints of two adjacent rows of bricks are staggered. If the straight bricks cannot enter the last row, install thin bricks and seal the gaps with cement.

Precautions:

  1. If glue is used for bonding, the temperature of the ball mill and the environment should not be too low, and the temperature should be above 20 degrees Celsius as much as possible, which can better ensure the fluidity of the glue and exert the maximum effect.
    2. It is strictly forbidden to add only a small amount of ball stones and water when brushing, and let the mill run for a long time, which will seriously damage the mill, lining bricks and ball stones.
    3. The ball mill should be installed at the site of use as much as possible, and try to avoid installation at the ball mill manufacturer to prevent the collision of the ball mill during the hoisting process and transportation process, which will cause the lining bricks at the collision site to fall off.
