In addition to square ceramic tiles, there is another favourite type of ceramic tiles sheets in the high wear and tear industry, the hexagonal tiles sheets.
Recently our workshop has been producing hexagonal tiles sheets in large quantities for customers in South America.

Hex tiles, like other ceramic tiles, are special corundum ceramics made of AL2O3 as the main raw material and rare metal oxides as the melting agent, which are baked at a high temperature of 1650 degrees Celsius.
Since the regular size of hexagonal tiles is 12x12mm and 12.5x12.5mm, the thickness of the tiles is relatively large, so we usually use a mesh for bonding.
The whole sheet of hexagonal tiles is flexible, lightweight and easy to cut, so it is mostly used for irregular equipment surfaces or where weight and space are limiting factors, such as steel pipe linings. Its advantages are as follows.
1, hardness . Excellent abrasion resistance: its abrasion resistance is equivalent to 266 times that of manganese steel and 171.5 times that of high chromium cast iron.
2, light weight: its density is 3.6g/cm3, only half of steel, can greatly reduce the equipment load.
3, firmly bonded, heat-resistant performance: wear-resistant ceramic lining sheet using special ceramic adhesive bonded to the inner wall of the equipment.
Hexagonal ceramic tile sheet is becoming an increasingly popular choice for industrial wear-resistant applications.
