What are the produce methods of zirconia beads
The produce methods of zirconia beads include compression molding method, rolling ball method and falling ball method.
1. Press molding
This is a common molding method for large-sized zirconia beads, mainly including dry pressing and isostatic pressing.
In actual production, in order to increase the density of the blank, the method of increasing the pressure is often used. However, the higher the pressure, the better. When the ultimate pressure is exceeded, the pressure will reduce the density of the billet, which is caused by spalling.
The isostatic pressing blank has high strength, high density and good uniformity, and can prepare high-performance and high-quality grinding media balls. Therefore, it is possible to combine these two methods to produce high-performance ceramic balls in industry.
2. Roll into a ball
In addition to cold isostatic pressing, rolling ball is also an important forming method for ceramic balls. The method has the characteristics of production equipment, raw materials, simple operation, good sphericity and easy sintering. Although the strength of ball formation is not as strong as that of cold isostatic pressing, the production cost is lower, and balls of various sizes in the range of 0.1mm-60mm can be produced according to requirements.
3. Drop into a ball
For small zirconia beads (from 0.05 mm to 0.01 mm), ceramic beads can be made by titration. The zirconia ceramic microbeads prepared by titration can be sintered at low temperature and have no internal pores. It is suitable for dispersion and grinding of high-performance materials such as electrode materials, multilayer ceramic capacitors, paints and coatings.
