The material of zirconium beads is mainly zirconia, depending on what type of zirconium beads, there are yttrium zirconium beads, cerium zirconium beads, composite zirconium beads, etc.
Yttrium zirconium beads, the full name of yttrium stabilized zirconia beads, are the most common and most common in zirconium beads. The content of zirconia is 95%, and 5% yttrium oxide is used as a stabilizer. The hardness and toughness are very good, and the wear is low, and it is widely used in fine grinding. According to the current technology, zirconium beads with a diameter of 0.05 can be made by titration molding in the electrolyte (refer to Sano yttrium stabilized zirconia beads), Zirconia beads with a particle size of 0.05mm are suitable for nano-scale grinding.
Cerium zirconia beads, the full name of cerium stabilized zirconia beads, contains 80% zirconia and 20% cerium oxide, with yellow, brown and black colors. Cerium zirconium beads have a large specific gravity, so they have a large kinetic energy during the grinding process, which has great advantages for grinding high-viscosity materials, and can also be used in high-shear sand mills.
Composite zirconium beads, alumina and zirconia are calcined at high temperature after rolling forming, the composition is alumina and zirconia, and 5% of other components, zirconia accounts for 75%, and alumina accounts for 20%. Since the composite zirconium beads contain zirconia, the wear of the composite zirconium beads is much lower than that of the alumina balls, so the performance of the composite zirconium beads is better than that of the alumina balls.
Zirconium silicate beads are made of zirconium oxide and silicon oxide, 64% zirconium oxide, 33% silicon oxide, medium density and hardness, suitable for grinding medium to low viscosity materials.
