Powder Compression Molding Process of Alumina Wear-resistant Ceramics
In modern industry, alumina ceramics are more and more widely used in steel, cement, metallurgy, lithium battery, iron ore and other industries, which shows that the market demand is also very large. So what is the process of ceramics from powder to molding?
There are many molding methods for preparing alumina ceramics from powder to green body. It is generally divided into isostatic pressing, grouting, thermoforming and dry pressing.
Dry pressing is to use pressure to press the powder into a green body of a certain shape. In fact, under the action of external force, the powder particles are brought close to each other in the mold, and are firmly combined by internal friction to maintain a certain shape. Called compression molding. This molding method is mainly used to make ceramic products with simple shapes.
Isostatic pressing is a special forming method developed on the basis of traditional dry pressing! It uses the fluid to transmit pressure, and evenly applies pressure to the powder in the elastic mold from all directions. Due to the consistency of the internal pressure of the fluid, the pressure on the powder in all directions is the same, which can avoid the difference in the internal density of the green body. Isostatic pressing can obtain a uniform and dense green body, and the ceramic sintering shrinkage is small and shrinks uniformly in all directions, which is suitable for the production of ceramic products with special requirements.
